Every year the Building Owners & Managers Association of Columbus (BOMA Columbus) presents their awards for The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) in multiple categories. On February 16 at the BOMA Columbus meeting at Confluence Park, the TOBY Award in the Historic Category was given to the original Huntington Bank building at 17 S High Street in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
The building is managed by NAI Ohio Equities. Property Manager Marci White nominated the building for the TOBY Award. Portions of the building date back to the 1880s, and the current 13 story building, designed by Snyder & Babbitt (who also helped design the Columbus Dispatch Building), was completed in 1926.
The BOMA Columbus website states the following about the TOBY Awards:
The TOBY is a salute to excellence in the office building industry and is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in commercial real estate. The award recognizes quality in office buildings and excellence in categories including office building management, energy management, and community impact.
